Standard Door/Lock Opening

Opening one Rim or Euro Cylinder, A stuck uPVC / Composite door, Mortice or Garage lock.

This is what you need if you have locked yourself out or lost your keys.

* If you need a replacement lock at the same time as an entry/open you get £30 off the price of the replacement lock. (See special offer section above)

** This price is per lock, if you have 2 locks on the door or 2 doors to be opened on the same visit you can take £30 off the price of each additional lock entry.

*** If the lock/door has restricted access, a cover or other extra security features which effect the ability to open it, a £20 surcharge may apply. lock types not listed above may cost more.

Open a wardrobe, filing / display cabinet, small locker or storage box. (Please note that these are priced at the same as a normal entry except for Pre-booked appointments where small items opened are £45)

I should be able to open your car door for you to retrieve your keys from inside.

You will need to give me a bit of information about your car (make, model and year) as a lot of newer cars require picks that I don't own.

Servicing & Adjusting

Door / Lock Adjustments & Servicing

Is your door hard to lock or open. It could be that your door has dropped and just needs adjusting, or the lock may need servicing. Let me adjust your hinges or clean, lubricate and adjust the lock.

It is better to spend a little now and save yourself needing a new full locking strip when the extra preasure finally breaks something.

Other Odd Jobs

Inspection / Give Advice / Problem Diagnosis ETC

Sometimes I attend jobs to take a lock apart to find the problem and the customer then decides to either do the job themselves or leave it as it is. Sometimes a customer wants me to come and have a look to check over their locks and give advice on what they should upgrade etc. This is a charge for those sorts of visits that do not require any extra service/work.

* Note: This charge is ONLY for when other services are not required on the same visit. You do not pay this when I diagnose the problem and then replace a lock etc at the same time.

I stock a range of parts for a whole variety of locks so sometimes a broken lock can simply be fixed. They don't make some locks anymore but some of those good old locks can be brought back to life.

*Please Note: sometimes it is cheaper to replace a lock rather than to fix it (because of the time involved in taking it apart and putting it back together) and better if other parts are very worn. I will let you know if a lock can be fixed and if I think that it is worth fixing or not.

Temporary Door Securing

uPVC Overnight Locks

If a door can't be fixed upon attending or if the required part needs to be ordered in then we might be able to secure the door using a uPVC overnight lock. This is a temporary lock which uses your existing Euro Cylinder to lock the door while waiting for the correct part.

Can be FREE The current cost of supplying and fitting a temporary overnight lock is £95. If you book an appointment for the fitting of the replacement lock within 14 days of the date that we contact you to let you know that it's available, then we can take back the overnight lock and take the £95 off the price of the ordered replacement lock. (subject to terms and conditions as shown on the receipt)
